Rosh Hashanah 5871 Message

Posted on September 24, 2020

Welcome to Temple Israel! We hope you’re braving the storm of COVID19 as best as you can, and that you and your family and friends are staying safe and well. Please take a look around our brand new website. We appreciate all the hard work that Jane Messinger has put into bringing about this wonderful way for us to share what Temple Israel is all about and hopefully how we can help you find your Jewish soul, and express your joys and concerns through our worship and learning. We also express our deep appreciation for the many years of service that Brian Newirth has put into designing and operating our original website.

As we begin the New Year of 5781 we hope for an end to COVID19 and a year of good health and joy. We also hope it is a year of spiritual renewal and deeper appreciation of Jewish values, history, and heritage, as well as a time to get closer to God.

At a time when for many of us our Temple’s namesake, Israel the country, showed few signs of true and lasting peace in the Middle East, we begin 5781 on an extremely hopeful note of hope that in our day and our children’s Israel will finally have peace with her neighbors sharing culture, traditions, and economic growth. We hope to return to Israel in March of 2022, so start saving your Shekels now!

Please feel free to contact me by email (rabbi@templewb.org) or leave a message on the Temple Israel office line, 570-824-8927. We can schedule a phone call or Zoom meeting for any reason you like!

All the best,

Shalom!

-Rabbi
